Syed S. Ali says:

In the ALLOWABLE MAX POUNDS OF EXPLOSIVE PER DELAY CALCULATIONS, BY THE FORMULA FOR 301 TO 5000 FEET W(LBS) = (D(FT)/55)SQUARE. BY THIS FORMULA IT IS INDICATED THAT FOR 100 DISTANCE THE WEIGHT IN POUNDS IS 9.75 LBS BY THE ABOVE FORMULA FOR D=100 FEET /55)SQUARE DOES NOT COME TO 9.75 LBS IT ONLY COMES TO 3.3LBS CAN YOU PLEASE CLARIFY THIS.

The clarification:

This formula that you used is only valid in the distance range of 301 feet to 5000 feet. You cannot use this formula for values of 300 feet or less (like for 100 feet) or for more than 5000 feet. The tabled values are what are used for 0 to 300 feet and the other formula is used for more than 5000 feet.
